Great value for a beginner

As a first-time candle maker, I was looking for a good deal. I found Village Craft and Candle through some searching and decided to try their starter set. It had everything I needed: soy wax, wicks, fragrance oils, and even pouring pitchers. The price point was really competitive, especially compared to other sites. I also got a small first-order discount which made it even better. I felt like I got a lot of bang for my buck and it allowed me to try out a new hobby without spending too much. Definitely worth it.

Detailed experience with order

My recent order included 10 lbs of C-3 soy wax, cotton wicks (CD-18 size), 3 fragrance oils ('Vanilla Bean', 'Cranberry Woods', 'Cedarwood & Sage'), and a digital thermometer. The ordering process was smooth on their website; product descriptions were clear, and I appreciated the wick sizing guide. Shipping took 6 days to arrive in Texas, which was within their estimated timeframe. Everything was packaged meticulously; the fragrance oils were individually wrapped, preventing any leaks, and the wax was in a sturdy bag within the box. The thermometer worked accurately, and the wicks performed as expected with the soy wax. I haven't needed customer support for this order, but based on the quality of products and packaging, I'm confident they'd handle any issues well. The only minor observation is that the 'Cranberry Woods' oil was slightly lighter in scent throw than I anticipated compared to the others, but still pleasant.

Consistently good quality

I've ordered from Village Craft and Candle several times now, mostly for their beeswax and essential oils. This last order was for a larger batch of beeswax and some 'Lemon Verbena' fragrance oil. Just like before, the quality was consistent and reliable. The beeswax is always clean and melts perfectly, and the fragrance oils are strong and true to scent. They've always packed everything securely, which is important for waxes and oils. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect and they deliver.

Good products, shipping could improve

I ordered some soy wax and a few fragrance oils, including 'Lavender & White Tea' and 'Eucalyptus Spearmint.' The quality of the products was solid; the wax melted nicely and the oils smelled great in my candles. The website was easy to navigate and placing the order was straightforward. My main gripe is the shipping time; it took about 7 business days to get to me, which felt a bit long. I think they could speed up their processing or offer more shipping options. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase but hoping for quicker delivery next time.

Fast delivery, good wax

Bought some paraffin wax and wick stickers. Order came in 4 days. Wax was good quality. Stickers worked fine. Quick and easy transaction.

Fun candle making stuff

Got a candle making kit from here, the one with the coconut wax. It was super easy to use and everything came packed well. Made a bunch of candles, they look really good. My friend even asked where I got the supplies. Shipping was fine, got here when they said it would. No complaints, I'd probably order again if I run out of wax.

Are their fragrance oils actually phthalate-free? I'm trying to be super careful with ingredients.

S Sofia Thomas 1 week ago
Yep, they are! Says right on their site, all their fragrance oils are phthalate-free. I specifically looked for that too.

Can confirm, I've bought a bunch and they always emphasize that. It's one of the reasons I use them.

Has anyone ordered a bulk amount of jars or wax? Wondering if there's an automatic discount or if I need a code for wholesale.

D Danielle Parker 1 week ago
From what I remember, the wholesale pricing usually just applies automatically once you hit a certain quantity. No code needed.

Yeah, you just add more to your cart and the price per unit drops. No special code to hunt down, which is nice.

Hey, thinking of getting some stuff from here, but I'm in California. Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to the US?

A Aaron Adams 1 month ago
Mine took about a week and a half to get to Oregon last month. Not super fast but not bad for crossing the border.

Yeah, I'm in Arizona and it was like 8-10 days for my last order. Depends on what you get though, some things ship quicker if they're smaller.

I'm just starting out, what's a good wax for beginners from Village Craft and Candle? Like, easy to work with and get good results.

M Mary 4 days ago
I'd go with their soy wax for sure, like the C-3 or something similar. Super forgiving and easy to pour.

Definitely soy. Paraffin can be a bit trickier for newbies with frosting and stuff. Soy is a good starting point.

Thinking of buying some supplies, but I'm debating between them and CandleScience. Anyone got thoughts on how they compare, especially for fragrance oils?

C Chloe W. 1 month ago
I've used both. VCS has some unique scents I haven't found elsewhere, and their customer service is great. CandleScience is good for consistency but I find VCS's oils to be strong.

Both are solid. VCS's shipping is a bit slower since it's from Canada, but their prices are often better on some items, especially with bulk. CandleScience is super reliable for quick US shipping though.
